WHAT IS UP-CYCLING and why is so important
UP-cycling is not believing in waste. Waste doesn’t exist!
Let me tell you a story.
Imagine a bottle. A beautiful shiny transparent plastic bottle. Perfectly designed to preserve the freshness of the drink it contains.
What happen when the beverage is finished? Does it stop to be nice, useful, light, transparent?
No. But it's immediate, as soon it's empty it's considered waste.
But waste doesn't' exist! There are only opportunities.
Opportunities to find a new life for our dear pretty bottle.
Because everyone deserves to change his life, reinvent his life. We facilitate this process. This is our job.
We give a new life to the all the objects, that day after day, serve us in every little moment of our life.
We give a new life to disposed products and materials before someone will see them like Waste.
Because we see opportunities. Because we use creativity to reinvent, to give them a second chance.
This is Up-Cycling. This is UP-LAB.

AN EXAMPLE of social UP-cycling
What if I tell you that our dear plastic bottle can have a great future?
That filled with water could mean the difference between light and darkness? Rudimentary as it may sound, the almost no-cost solution is uplifting the quality of life of thousands of impoverished families in the Philippines who have no access to electricity and use dangerous kerosene lamps indoors. These makeshift solar lamps basically act as skylights, and reflect and amplify the rays of the sun during daylight hours – effectively performing the work of indoor light bulbs – but without using any electricity at all. Here is it. Social UP-cycling. |
